So The Wizard of Oz opened in London yesterday with a sort of press night and now the reviews are starting to come in thick and fast. Ignoring the preemptive reviews such as that in the Sun far too early on, what are the papers saying about Danielle Hope and The Wizard of Oz today? [...]

Michael Crawford, The Wizard of Oz himself was the mystery guest on Chris Evans’ radio 1 show this morning. If you’re one of the few lucky people to have seen him earlier this week at the Palladium, he is truly marvellous in the Waizard role. Chris Evans asked Michael Crawford if anything has gone wrong [...]

Of course it’s wrong to review a new show like The Wizard of Oz while it’s still in previews, because the performance you see in previews is not the same as the final Wizard of Oz musical after the press night or opening. Nevertheless, hundreds of people have been to see the show already and [...]

Hi, we are coming over from melbourne and are interested in the show. But we don’t arrive until mid september, 2011. Will the show still be running and will Michael Crawford still be playing the Wizard?
November 26, 2010 - 7:18 pm
Hi Anne, September is an interesting month for The Wizard of Oz because the provision “booking until” date is currently set at 17th September. Also it’s the female lead Danielle Hope’s time off during the fortnight commencing 5th September. It would be a bit of a disappointment if the show finishes after only six months though, so as long as all goes OK we should expect the first extension to be announced sometime after opening in March 2011. Michael Crawford’s contract is also for six months, so as you’re arriving mid September the only thing to do really is to check back here again nearer the time, sorry I can’t be more specific.

hi, im coming to see the show on june 19th, will danielle be there that date? i watched over the rainbow every week and voted for her from the start, would really like to see the show when shes there, many thanks jenx

June 19th is a Sunday by my reckoning, so there’s a matinee at 15.00 and no evening performance.
Danielle Hope performs all except Tuesdays and booked holidays on weeks beginning 2nd May 2011, 5th September 2011 & 12th September 2011
So it looks like you’ll be OK Jennie! Have a lovely time. Of course there are no guarantees in case of illness etc.

Dear,
we are planning to come to see the show on Friday 27th of May 2011.
It is important for us that Michael Crawford is playing the show then. Could you please confirm this ?
